New Yurt City
Are you ready for a YURT experience???
Where will we live?: You will live in our BRAND NEW, TOTALLY AWESOME Yurt facility that consists of 2 sleeping Yurts (1 male & 1 female), a communal Yurt for hanging out, and your own bathhouse.
Why would I want to do this?: Because we know that ‘regular’ camp programming might just not be enough of a challenge for you and we want to provide a program that bridges traditional camp with the LIT program.So what will we do all day?: For half the day you will participate in regular camp programming (i.e. Choice Acts), but for the other half you will be able to choose from a variety of special “Yurt-only” programs that may include anything from Advanced Aquatic Endeavors to training to be a counselor for a week. In addition, during Cabin Acts and some evening programs you will participate in Yurt-only activities such as the zip-line or cardboard boat races. “Yurters” will also take part in special programs and off-site trips like REAL rock climbing, canoeing, and camping.
This sounds too good to be true! Is it?: Well yes, it is. But because you are a seasoned Woodstocker, we will ask you to give back to your beloved camp by doing some fun service projects. These may include making directional signs for camp, camp recycling, assisting the LITs with dishes, and helping with the camp cookout.
Super! How do I sign up?: Because we want this to be specifically for our OLDEST campers, all you have to do is register for a 2 week session of camp. If you are one of the 10 oldest boys or girls you will be informed that you are in the program closer to your start date of camp. You don’t have to participate in the Yurt program if you are eligible, but we strongly encourage it!
